About Fractional

Fractional, part of Laika Ventures portfolio, is an applied-AI company based in Porto/Braga, Portugal, but working remotely with a few in-person workdays. We design and build AI agents and systems for Portuguese SMEs — not prototypes or dashboards, but systems that go live in production and replace real manual work: reconciling invoices, managing HR, running audits, processing credit applications. We have 20+ systems live in production with clients like Casa Financeira, Wewood, Dehouse, and Train your Dog.

We also build our own products: forhumans (an AI-native HR platform) and foraudits (an AI-native audit and compliance platform, partnered with the Instituto Português da Qualidade).

We work in small, hands-on teams that go from design to delivery, fast.

What you'll do

• Advise client companies on HR strategy, structure, and operations, drawing on hands-on experience across sectors and growth stages
• Support recruitment and selection processes, from role design to hiring decisions
• Contribute to organizational development initiatives — structure, culture, and change management, particularly in high-growth or fast-changing contexts
• Shape employee experience and wellbeing practices for client organizations
• Partner with the forhumans product team, translating real HR operations knowledge into product decisions and features
• Bring an analytical, data-informed lens to HR decisions (HR analytics, behavioral insight) where relevant
• Particular strength in high-growth, high-change environments
• Core expertise in HR strategy, recruitment & selection, organizational development, and employee experience
• Interest in behavioral analysis, employee wellbeing, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and in working at the intersection of people, culture, and business
• Degree in Human Resources Management; a Master's in HR Management & Development and/or postgraduate training in Business Development is a strong plus
• Additional training in areas like Business Analysis, HR Analytics, or Recruitment & Selection is valued
• Experience mentoring early-career professionals or students is a plus

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of HR experience across different sectors (e.g. e-commerce, fintech, logistics, manufacturing) and company sizes/stages
• Track record across HR functions (HR Generalist, Talent Partner, People Partner, HR Director, HR Consultant, or similar)About the role
• We're looking for a senior HR Consultant to bring real operational HR expertise into how we work with clients — both directly, advising the companies we work with on their people challenges, and as domain expertise feeding into the development of forhumans, our HR product. You'll act as the bridge between how HR actually runs on the ground and the systems we build to support it.
